CHINA TOUR GROUP EMAIL
Sent May 24, 2000

Sent Wednesday, May 24

1. "Bills" for the final June 1 payment
were given to every student on Monday to
take home. The final payment just can
not be late. Peter and I have so much
to do between June 1 and when
we leave for China that spending time
tracking down late payments would
take much too much time. If you have
any misunderstandings
or questions about your "bill",
email... jebwarrick@yahoo.com

2. Greg Geary has produced a CD that
contains his group, the Bluegrass Boys,
a faculty rock band, and a guest jazz
vocalist. ALL proceeds from the sale of
this $10 CD will be directed to the tour
fund once production costs of $1,000 are
met. This is the FINAL way that people
can help us offset any financial shortfalls.
If you want to help sell these, see
Mr. Rosheger to obtain a few copies.
We are NOT taking anymore money for
the offical tour cds. That project was closed
by receiving the bills sent out on Monday.
Everyone should have been billed $5 for each
CD you still have. After you pay your
June 1 bill you can sell those CDs for
$15 and keep the excess.

3. We still have several outstanding
legal and medical forms. Tracking these
down are also taking more time that
Mr. Rosheger and I have now.

4. Tony has completed his program that
will allow people to send emails to us
while we are on tour. We have obtained
a portable printer that will let us
print out and distribute your emails
to the travelers. You will get information
about that later. We also have a
Palm Pilot and keyboard for same to take
on the trip that will allow students to
write emails. We will upload/download
emails as often as we can find a good
connection to the internet.

5. Since seniors will not be around
after Friday (and we will not see
everyone else during exams) tour
emails will now be sent more often.
I will be sending these out now.
Therefor, if you do not get an email...
contact me at jwarrick@ntjazz.com

6. Do NOT take a bathing suit to China.
We will have no time to swim, the water
would not be safe, and we just don't
want to take the risk of a swimming accident.

7. If you think you will get tired of
Chinese food, pack a few boxes of
macaroni and cheese, or cans of soup.
We have plans to ask certain resturants
to make these for the travelers who need them.

8. Bus list signup for STUDENTS will
take place during lunch periods today
(May 24). Most all adults have been assigned
to Bus III.

9. PLEASE FINISH UP WITH READING THE
"CULTURE SHOCK" BOOKS!!!. People are
calling me and asking about getting the
book from people that are higher on the
reading list. I can't give them a book
if they are still being read. WHEN YOUR
READING GROUP FINISHES READING.... THE
LAST PERSON SHOULD RETURN THE BOOK TO
ME SO I CAN DISTRIBUTE THEM TO THOSE THAT
HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO READ THEM. NO
ONE SHOULD KEEP THEIR BOOKS. WE PLAN TO
DONATE THEM TO THE CHINESE LANGUAGE PROGRAM
AFTER OUR TOUR.

10. Finally, seniors in Jazz Ensemble I should
have turned in their jackets, shirts and belts
a long time ago. Again, it is taking too much
of my time to keep tracking things like this
down that are not getting done.

Thanks
J. Warrick
P. Rosheger
