NIC MEYER
Nic
Meyer is the director of instrumental music at the Joseph Sears School
in Kenilworth, IL. Prior to that Nic was a long-term music substitute and Freshman
Jazz Ensemble director at New Trier High School. Nic received his
bachelor’s degree in music education from DePaul University in Chicago,
where he was a saxophonist in the DePaul Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble.
He is a faculty member at the Merit School of Music in Chicago,
where he teaches private saxophone lessons, jazz improvisation, and
coaches a chamber ensemble. He also teaches private saxophone lessons and
jazz improvisation at New Trier. Besides teaching, Nic is an active
freelance saxophonist in Chicago, playing in jazz, avante-guard, and
R&B groups, along with his own jazz quartet.
