THE 2008
JAZZ
DIRECTORS
BIG FAT
BAND
...is
comprised of jazz directors from the participating schools.
The title "Fat" has nothing to do
with the girth of any individual member or the collective girth
of the ensemble. It is so named to avoid any confusion between our band and
Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band,
a group with whom we are so often and rightly confused. Gordon's band also
rehearses now and then, which is another major difference between our two
ensembles. To actually rehearse would deny us our most viable
excuse.
